Seth Moulton gets a fundraiser after criticizing the inclusion of trans athletes, sparking a second pro-trans rally

Rep. Seth Moulton, D-Mass., appears to be financially rewarded for taking action against transgender athletes in women’s sports, but his critics are not backing down.

Moulton has raised $547,153 from Election Day in November through the end of 2024, according to The Boston Globe. That number is 10 times higher than it raised at the same time in 2022, and 80% of donations were $100 or less.

“I think most Democrats want to put this issue to bed, so we don’t keep losing,” Moulton told reporters.

The congressman was one of the most vocal Democrats against transgender inclusion in women’s and girls’ sports after his party’s sweeping losses in the White House, House of Representatives and Senate.

Moulton began his comments criticizing his party’s stance on transgender inclusion in a New York Times Nov. 7, just two days after the election, he then doubled down on that position amid his party’s retreat.

Moulton’s comments prompted a transgender rally outside his office Nov. 17, and now the second meeting is scheduled outside his office on Tuesday, Jan. 28.

Salem City Councilman Kyle Davis, who organized the rallies, previously told Fox News Digital that there is a large Democratic Alliance group in Massachusetts that is planning to establish Moulton in 2026.

Although Moulton has publicly denied supporting transgender inclusion in women’s and girls’ sports, he voted for a bill to help fight it last week.

Moulton joined 206 Democratic representatives who voted against the Women and Girls in Sports Protection Act Jan. 14. Moulton previously supported the Equality Act and the Transgender Bill of Rights, both of which would have allowed transgender athletes to compete in women’s sports.

On Tuesday, two Democrats joined the Republican majority in voting for the bill – Reps. Henry Cuellar, D-Texas, and Vicente Gonzalez, D-Texas. But Moulton, although he now opposes transgender inclusion, voted against the bill on Tuesday, saying he didn’t want children to be “subjected to the violation of personal privacy by this bill.”

That argument was echoed by many other Democrats, including House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D.N.Y., did, insisting it would empower child abusers to examine the genitalia of children. the girls.

The bill passed the House with partisan support and is moving to the Senate, and some Democratic voters have opted to leave the party in response to their representatives’ contention about the bribery.

The latest New York Times/Ipsos poll found most Americans, including most Democrats, do not think transgender athletes should be allowed to compete in women’s sports. Of the 2,128 people interviewed, 79% said transgender men who identify as women should not be allowed to participate in women’s sports.

Of the 1,025 people who identified as Democrats or leaning Democrat, 67% said transgender athletes should not be allowed to compete against women.

Immediately after the November election, a national exit poll conducted by the legal committee Concerned Women for America found that 70% of moderate voters saw the issue of “Donald Trump’s opposition to transgender boys and men playing girls’ and women’s sports and transgender boys and men using girls’ and women’s houses” as important to them.

And 6% said it was the most important issue, and 44% said it was “very important.”
