President Biden and Jill Biden’s relationship with Vice President Kamala Harris and Doug Emoff has been rocky after the vice president lost the election to President-elect Donald Trump, according to a new report.

The Wall Street Journal reported Monday that “post-election tensions” between the Bidens and the Harris family have sometimes been “icy,” privately, citing people familiar with the relationship.

Harris took the presidency at the top of the Democratic ticket after a weeks-long pressure campaign forced Biden to drop out of the race in July. The president has been hailed as a hero and patriot for leaving office, but has been criticized in recent weeks for not moving out quickly after the victory of President-elect Donald Trump.

The WSJ noted that first lady Jill Biden has fallen out of favor with Harris since she accused the president of opposing federally mandated busing policies during the Democratic primary debate for the 2020 election cycle, citing two people close to the first lady and Harris.

HARRIS COMES TO BIDEN CALLING TRUMP SUPPORTERS ‘TRASH’

White House spokesman Andrew Bates and the VP’s spokeswoman, Kristen Allen, denied that there was an altercation between the two, according to the source.

In the last few weeks of the campaign, Harris’ team was frustrated by the president’s public appearances. Biden made a surprise appearance in a White House briefing room in early October, then made headlines in late October when he called Trump supporters “trash,” although the White House denied that was his intention.

Harris repeatedly defended the president against attacks on his age, fitness and ability to serve, even after the president left office.

Biden expressed regret for leaving the race, according to a Washington Post report, and said he thought he could have defeated Trump.

According to the WSJ report, the belief that the president may have hit Trump is not shared among other close aides to the Bidens in the White House.

White House staff have described the workplace as “draining” and “stressful” in recent weeks, the WSJ reported.
