It seemed like the day would never come. Then, on December 30, 2024, Brad Pitt and ex Angelina Jolie they signed their divorce after more than 8 years locked in a heated courtroom. “There is great relief that it is over,” said a source recently Us Weekly cover story. “The weight has been lifted.”
Now Pitt, 61, is looking forward. “Brad wants to get his life back [back] in line and I put this behind him,” said the source. “He can start all over again.” Excited about his much-anticipated ride in racing cars, F1it came out in June. Sources say he hopes to finally rebuild his relationship with his six children (he and Jolie, 49, are parents to Maddox, 23, Pax, 21, Zahara, 20, Shiloh, 18, and 16-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne). And he’s moving fast when it comes to his romance with his girlfriend of two years, a jewelry exec Ines de Ramon35, which, according to sources, was the reason why Pitt finally made peace with Jolie. A second source says: “Ines helped Brad move on and think differently about the divorce.”
Perfect Match
Pitt and de Ramon seemed like a good match from the start. They were first spotted together in late 2022 and first appeared on the red carpet in September Wolves the first show. “She brings out the best in Brad,” a source told us at the time. They reportedly spent the holidays together at his $40 million mansion in Carmel, California. (As Us previously reported, de Ramon moved into Pitt’s LA apartment in early 2024.) With a busy career keeping her schedule full, a second source explains, “Ines [brought him] a sense of calm and peace.”
Pitt leans into her as he and Jolie continue to court. In addition to ongoing child custody issues, Pitt sued Jolie in 2022 for selling his share of the family vineyard, Château Miraval. Jolie sued for $250 million and included in official filings an alleged account of a 2016 incident on a private jet in which she said an intoxicated Pitt abused her and the children. Pitt denied that the altercation turned physical and was removed following an investigation by the Department of Family Services and the FBI.
Pitt and de Ramon have a lot in common. De Ramon was going through a divorce when she and Pitt met — she and Vampire Diaries alum Paul Wesley split in 2022 after three years of marriage. “That’s what she and Brad stick with,” said a second source. The first source added: “Ines has been supportive of Brad from the start. You have been his rock.”
Their romance is a breath of fresh air for Pitt. “He had a bad relationship with Angelina, and he doesn’t have that with Ines,” said the first source. “They are madly in love and work so well together. Brad is happier than ever.” In July, a source told Us they enjoy “low-key date nights” at home, often cooking and watching movies together. “Brad loves how simple and smart Ines is.”
Good Influence
He actively encouraged Pitt to finalize the divorce from Jolie. “Ines is a very loving person and does not like conflict or disagreement. She wants Brad to find peace, forgiveness and move on,” the source said Us in May. “From his point of view, it doesn’t make sense for him to hold on to all the hostility.”
Although Brad’s divorce is now official, a second source explains that Pitt and de Ramon are “not putting any pressure on the marriage. [Still]they are devoted to each other and very serious.” Although the actress is happy to focus on her future with the jeweler, the source explains that “there is no need for her to remarry at this time.

Pitt is optimistic — but realistic — about reconnecting with his children. Last May, Shiloh officially changed her last name to Jolie. (Zahara and Vivienne also seem to use Jolie exclusively.)
“Brad doesn’t connect with the older kids. It’s a painful situation for him,” said the second source. (In an allegedly resurfaced Instagram post Pax wrote on Father’s Day 2020, he called the star “a world-class a-hole.”) According to a third source, Pitt has the right to co-manage Knox and Vivienne “but it’s very limited.” time with them, especially because of filming F1, which required travel.” A second source says that Pitt and the twins “don’t have a very close relationship,” adding, “He always comes around and hopes that things will get better one day.”
The actor is very hopeful about keeping peace with Jolie.
