Angry parents shout at school board for allowing transgender athlete in girls’ sports: ‘Teach them self-control!’
A school board meeting descended into a showdown between concerned parents and transgender activists Thursday night amid a national controversy over a transgender athlete on the cross country team.
The Riverside Unified School District (RUSD) held a board meeting at its office in Riverside, California, to address concerns about student-athletes at Martin Luther King High School and students being punished for wearing shirts that read “Save Girls’ Sports.”
This meeting came after weeks of construction as hundreds of students from Martin Luther King High School and other schools in the region wore t-shirts against the wishes of the school. Hundreds of students rioted wearing these t-shirts every Wednesday, many were arrested for wearing them, until schools stopped punishing students in the week of December 11.
Before the meeting, competing protests between transgender activists and “Save Girls’ Sports” activists gathered outside the RUSD District Office.
When the meeting started, speakers were invited to express their views on the situation. Many parents have criticized the district for allowing this athlete to compete with girls and come wearing t-shirts.

One of the first parents to speak out against the district allowing the placement was a mother named Sandy R. The mother complained about her name being revealed to protest activists outside the meeting room. He feared he would be “tired” because of his stance and said he intended to file a case of harassment.
Sandy then criticized the entire board for flouting Title IX in favor of California State law.
One parent pointed out that the school district’s science curriculum even includes textbooks on the genetic differences between biological males and females. My mother took out her ninth grade biology textbook and read a passage explaining that men are born with XY chromosomes and women are born with XX chromosomes.
He then held up pictures of students being punished for wearing shirts that read “XX (does not fit) XY.”
“This is what you did to the students wearing the shirt I’m wearing tonight, for looking for the biological truth in your book, which is part of your lessons. Are we going to put tape in the books next? Is that what’s going to happen, we’re not going to teach science?” he shouted. “You’re denying biological facts so you don’t hurt someone else’s feelings, and that’s wrong!”
The mother then spoke about allegations in a lawsuit filed by two cross-country schoolgirls that the school compared their t-shirts to swastikas.
Another mother, named Colleen, was already screaming before she approached the podium, criticizing the board for allowing trans activists in the office to enjoy sensitivity, and compared it to their treatment of young men. they want to switch to women’s sports to gain a competitive advantage.
“Your job is to teach these people self-control, and you’re not doing that!” he shouted. “It’s all about their confidence, and you make them fail! They won’t be given to the world. The world won’t fix it because ‘I can’t make it in this game, so. now I’m going to join this game because I can do better there. Do your job!
Later, a mother named Maria Karillo began her speech by warning all the children in the house to leave. He then cited sexually explicit lines from the school-authorized handouts found in RUSD middle schools to make a point, before criticizing the school for calling the parents involved “instigators, disruptors of MAGA.”
“We are parents here who take care of our children, we use our constitutional right to talk to you, the leaders of our community, about our children’s issues,” he said. “I want to know why the teachers’ union is sending us emails calling us cruel.”
A mother named Patty Clauda, who spoke in Spanish with the help of an English interpreter, began to taunt the school board for not knowing the difference between a man and a woman before expressing her fear that the girls would have to share locker rooms with natural men. .
“They change in front of men!” he said through a translator.

At the end of her tantrum, Clauda stopped using her translator to speak English directly to the board, screaming loudly.
“Actually what I’m getting at is that there are real natural women standing in front of me, and you’re not speaking up for the girls in this school district, and you’re allowing these ladies to be mistreated, abused and discriminated against! You’re creating a hostile environment for these kids to get their education!” Clauda yelled.
Many concerned parents called for Superintendent Renee Hill’s resignation when they spoke out.
At one point, a female athlete even got a chance to speak and was emotionally moved as she expressed the fact that she, as a natural woman, has no real chance of competing with natural men.
“There is no woman in the whole world who is so dedicated that she will beat a man who is dedicated,” he said with a sigh.
However, gender activists have been given a chance to speak. Many speakers who voiced support for transclusion thanked the board for allowing a trans athlete to compete with girls and encouraged it to continue to empower and protect that athlete.
One trans activist event even made the false claim that the XY chromosome is disappearing from the human genome and that all humans will eventually be born with an XX chromosome.
Many of the pro-trans speeches were met with loud cheers and the waving of LGBTQ pride flags by those in attendance.
California has had laws in place to protect transgender athletes in women’s sports since 2014. That year, AB 1266 took effectwhich gives California students at the academic and college levels the right to “participate in sex-segregated school programs and activities, including sports teams and competitions, and use facilities consistent with their gender identity, regardless of the gender listed on the student’s records.”

In a statement provided to Fox News Digital earlier, RUSD said it allowed a transgender athlete to compete on the team because it must comply with California state law.
“It is important to remember that RUSD is obligated to follow California law which states that students are ‘allowed to participate in gender-segregated school programs and activities, including gender-specific sports teams and competitions, regardless of the gender on the student’s record,” the statement said.
The school said that those who were offended by it should direct their anger to members of the state and government legislatures.
“As these issues continue in our courts and in the media, objections and protests should be addressed to those in a position to affect those laws and policies, including officials in Washington, DC, and Sacramento,” the statement said.
