Nations Will Sign Michael Soroka
The Nationalists agree with those who use the right hand Michael SorokaKen Rosenthal of The Athletic reports. The ISE Baseball client is getting a one-year contract worth $9MM, according to FanSided’s Robert Murray. Murray added that Soroka will be the starter for the Nats.
Soroka, 27, entered the offseason as one of the top free agents available. He found success as a starting pitcher in his early 20s, back in 2019, but missed most of the 2020 to 2023 seasons due to injury. In 2024, he struggled badly as a starter but then moved into a bullpen role and finished the season strong. It could be argued that he’s earned another shot at a rotation job or that he’s found a role that works for him and should continue as a reliever, though it seems like he’ll get another shot at being the starter next year.
More to come.
