49ers’ Deommodore Lenoir blasts teammates for refusing to enter game: ‘Lost everything’
San Francisco 49ers quarterback Deommodore Lenoir blasted teammate De’Vondre Campbell after the quarterback was suspended for refusing to enter their game last week.
The 49ers suspended Campbell for three games over the incident. Lenoir didn’t hold back when asked what he thought about it on Monday.

“When he was first signed, I was thinking in my head, like, we’ve got another guy we can put on defense who can contribute,” Lenoir recalled, via NBC Sports Bay Area. “For that to happen, and for him to do that, I just lost all respect.”
Campbell was brought to the team in the offseason as fellow cornerback Dre Greenlaw was recovering from a torn Achilles he suffered in the Super Bowl.
Greenlaw returned for Thursday night’s game against the Los Angeles Rams but started to feel pain in his Achilles in the third quarter. When the 49ers asked Campbell to enter the game, he refused.

Lenoir said he thought it was “crazy” to quit the team while it was still going strong.
“I will never be a part of something like that. I love the game so much, I was so proud that I could tell the coach that I wasn’t going to the game,” said Lenoir. “I’m someone who plays 110% in every game. So if I’m injured and the guy behind me doesn’t support me and can’t come in or doesn’t want to come in, I feel like that’s a cancer on the team.”
It’s been one of those years in San Francisco. The team had high hopes entering this season with Christian McCaffrey and Brandon Aiyuk re-signing. However, the turmoil of the offseason carried over into the regular season and the losses piled up.
