Everyone’s Favorite Bad Christmas Movie, Scary People And Bad Romance

Romantic comedies used to be a mainstay of theater, and there’s a lot of blame to go around as to where the genre is now based, but I lay the blame at the feet of Love Actually. At one point, it was considered the greatest rom-com of all time and one of the best romantic movies ever made, but now it’s better known as a horror movie with a horrible message about horrible people doing horrible things to each other. But every year, with the same kind of sad inevitability as Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas,” the movie is in the top ten streaming spots.
Love Actually Couldn’t Be Done Today
There are ten different stories throughout Love Actuallyand admittedly, a few are rather cute and likable, starting with low-key singer Mack (Bill Nighy), who also has a hit song and chooses to spend Christmas with his boss, Joe, instead. It’s short, simple, and comes down to friendship. If a movie had more stories like this or the story of John (Martin Freeman) and Judy (Joanna Page), which captures the difficulties of moving into a new relationship, it would be a classic for all the right reasons, but instead, there are two stories that drag everything down the drain.
Juliet (18-year-old Keira Knightley) and Peter (Chiwetel Ejiofor) have just gotten married when it is discovered that Mark (Andrew Lincoln) is having an affair with his best friend’s new wife. Mark admits, admittedly, that it’s cute with the printed cards and the boombox, but in any other movie, he could be a bully, or Peter is just a bully instead of here, where he’s portrayed as a loving, caring spouse. Love Actually However, she manages to move on, and makes Juliet kiss Mark after his confession, so even though she doesn’t accept or leave her husband, she still kisses her new husband’s best friend instead of telling him to get off her lawn.
Mark’s confession has been treated as a sweet romantic moment in countless Hollywood montages, but as subtle as it seems, it doesn’t matter as much as the infamous storyline Love Actually. Hugh Grant plays David, the Prime Minister of England, who is in charge of the American President, played by Billy Bob Thornton, when the President makes lewd comments about Natalie, one of the British workers. It gets worse when Natalie tells David she loves him, and they actually agree and kiss despite the obvious problem of a boss getting involved with one of his employees.
These are just four of the 10 stories, including a short tryst that could fit in any rom-com, a British man who finds himself alien to American women and ends up going home from a bar with women played by January Jones. and Elisa Cuthbert for her roommate, Shannon Elizabeth, and the sweet story of a father and son each finding love. After watching Harry Potter, one Love Actually A story about cheating is fun on one level, and one level only, because it has Alan Rickman cheating on Emma Thompson, so try to think of it as Professor Snape cheating on Professor Trelawney.
Love Really Misses It
There is an argument to be made that the intention is Love Actually it wasn’t meant to be a feel-good joke but rather a way to show the trauma that exists in all relationships. On that level, it’s a complete miss, given the epilogue that shows David, again, the Prime Minister of England, kissing his young servant, while Peter, Mark, and Juliet are all shown at the airport waiting for a friend, which means no. someone told Peter what happened. Usually, I try not to spoil anything, but we are on this planet for a limited time, and to be honest, none of it should be wasted watching this movie.
Love Actually he killed romantic comedies and somehow convinced the director Garry Marshall, who had nothing to do with the film, that there was money to be made in this format, but it was used in other Holidays, which he gave us. Valentine’s Day in 2010, New Year’s Eve in 2011, too Mother’s Day in 2016. There are better options out there, though I’ll admit that New Year’s Eve it’s probably the best of the bunch, and like most rom-coms, there are still parts that don’t hold up, but nothing nearly as bad as the 2003 film.
If you want to watch Love Actually to see how bad the movie is and how horrible most of the characters are, you can find it on Amazon Prime, where it has been in the top ten for a few days now. Instead, it would help if you broadcast a better Christmas movie, like him Christmas with the Cranks or Four Christmasesboth are better than Love Actually.
