Blue Bloods Series Finale: Who’s Dead, Who’s Married, Who’s Pregnant?
The Reagans came together to protect New York City in an epic and emotional way Blue Blood the last series after a madman threatens to put their entire lives in danger.
Warning: Spoilers below for Blue Bloods season 14, episode 18.
Friday’s episode, December 13, began with the murder of a NYC judge, which shook the city. As detectives Danny Reagan (Donnie Wahlberg) and Maria Baez (Marisa Ramirez) began to look at the murder, beat the police Eddie Janko (Vanessa Ray) and Luis Badillo (Ian Quinlan) responding to a carjacking call over the radio.
Eddie and Badillo are ambushed by gunmen on motorcycles as soon as they get out of their car – and both are shot. Across town, two men set fire to a motorcycle in Mayor Chase (Dylan Walsh), was taken to the hospital.
In the Office of Assistant District Attorney, Erin Reagan (Bridget Moynahan) and his colleagues are surprised when they receive a threatening video from a masked man saying that gangs in New York are united and are willing to continue killing officials and police unless some prisoners are released.
Everyone quickly realizes that their crimes are connected, with the gang Ace Double Tres (ADT) and Carlos Ramirez (Manny Perez) at the center of the chaos.
Before the mayor goes into surgery for his injuries, he gives Commissioner Frank Reagan (Tom Selleck) keys to the house and tells him to “get us out of this.” Frank does just that and uses every resource at his disposal, including Erin asking her ex-husband, Jack Boyle (Peter Hermann), pulling a few strings and getting him to sit down with inmate Lorenzo Batista (Edward James Olmos), his son shot the mayor.
Despite worrying about his wife, Eddie, who survived the attack, Jamie Reagan (Will Estes), worked with his nephew Joe Hill (Is Hochman) to track down one of the shooters. Badillo, unfortunately, does not.
Eddie, on the other hand, doesn’t sit still for long and jumps back into the game after Ramirez’s daughter – whom fans met earlier this season – called him and said her father was scaring her. After his death, Danny tracked down Ramirez, saved his daughter and put her in custody (using his usual charm and pull as a father himself).
Jamie and Joe eventually track down the man who shot Badillo while he was visiting his newborn in the hospital. Before leaving with him, Jamie called Eddie to arrest him, and he did so using Badillo’s police claws. The shooter of the mayor was also found and arrested.
After a few tense days, the Reagans find all the bad guys dealing with threats and shootings. Following Badillo’s police funeral – which was attended by everyone – the family celebrated their victory with a family dinner.
Besides Frank, Danny, Erin, Jamie and Eddie, grandfather Henry Reagan (Le Cariou) and Frank’s grandchildren, Nicky (Same Gayle), Jack (Tony Terraciano) and Sean (Andrew Terracino), all had seats at the table. Erin’s partner, who was also absent, Jack was also sitting beside her.
“We have a lot to be thankful for. When I look around this table, I have to say, I couldn’t be more proud and grateful,” Frank growled before they all said their last goodbyes.
Scroll down to find out where each of the OG Reagans stood at the end of the blue bloods’ 14 season run:
Frank Reagan
Frank happily returned the keys to the city to the mayor after saving the day with the help of his family and the police. He then attended Badillo’s funeral with all his loved ones by his side and shared a sweet message for Badillo’s mother. “Please take a close look around you, all of Luis’s family is with you today,” he said as tears fell from the crowd.
Frank sat at the head of his family’s table to host the series – and he was the police commissioner of New York City.
Henry Reagan
Henry remained in trouble during the finale but gave his oldest grandson, Danny, some sage advice about his love life. At the end of the episode, Henry was happy and healthy, still alive with his son, Frank.
Danny Reagan
While hunting Ramirez and his daughter, Danny has a heart-to-heart with Henry about his life. “I always told you not to bring work home,” Henry reminded Danny, noting that “the problem now is that you don’t have anyone to bring it to.” He then told Danny to promise him that he would “find that person” after this case.
Danny heard his grandfather speak clearly, later asking his co-worker, Baez, about what seemed to be the day. “Do you want to get pizza?” Danny said before the two left the arm of the yard holding each other.
Erin Reagan
After Jack helps the Reagan family as a favor to Erin, the two go on a walk. Erin and Jack, who were separated but then reunited, take a trip down memory lane, remembering that they are a good team.
“We tried marriage, remember?” Jack reminded Erin, who replied, “Yes, despite our best efforts, we are still here. One foot inside and one outside. Maybe we should try both feet?”
He stated that “everyone deserves a second chance” and promised that it would be “different this time.” Erin then suggested, “Party for two? City hall? Did you tell everyone about it after the fact?”
Jack agreed, and during a family dinner, Erin said she had an announcement, hinting at their secret wedding. However, after Jamie and Eddie share their big news, Erin chooses to keep hers quiet, giving Jack a knowing look around the table.
Jamie Reagan
Jamie and Joe successfully worked together to find the suspect, which was a fun moment since Jamie previously gave Joe his late father’s car and Jamie’s brother, Joe Reagan, earlier this season.
The engagement was even more emotional after Jamie almost lost his wife to a gunshot wound. Fortunately, Jamie and Eddie were both safe to close the series. Eddie, however, was late for the family dinner – and everyone noticed.
When he finally arrived, he was carrying a high chair to add to the table. “We will use it when the baby is born,” Jamie revealed. Eddie confirmed her pregnancy, saying her due date was in June.
