Suspect accused of feeding FBI false information about Biden pleads guilty to 4 charges

Alexander Smirnov has reached a plea deal with the office of special counsel David Weiss, agreeing to plead guilty to multiple charges.

The plea agreement notes that Smirnov admits to “Count Two of the indictment of United States v. Alexander Smirnov … charging the defendant with causing the creation of a false and untruthful record in a government investigation…”

He also pleads guilty to multiple tax evasion charges.

Smirnov is accused of providing “derogatory false information to the FBI[.]”
