FBI chief announces departure as Trump’s candidacy awaits confirmation
Director of the FBI Christopher Wray has announced plans to step down from his position at the end of the Biden administration.
Fox News learned a few minutes before the announcement that Wray will make the announcement at the FBI town hall in Washington, DC, where thousands of FBI employees are expected to join almost all over the country.
“After many weeks of careful consideration, I have decided that the best thing for the Bureau is for me to serve until the end of the current Administration in January and then step down,” Wray said during the town hall. “My goal is to stay focused on our mission – the important work we do for the American people every day. In my view, this is the best way to avoid dragging the Bureau into the depths of controversy, while strengthening the framework. principles and values that are most important to the way we do our work.”…Read more
