Bryce Young of the Panthers receives a prayerful commendation as an Eagles player is injured
Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young almost led his team to a victory over the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, but he received praise for one action during the game.
Eagles linebacker CJ Gardner-Johnson went down with an injury in the fourth quarter. Young appeared to see Gardner-Johnson on the ground and took a moment to bow his head and pray for a moment.

It was a difficult day for Gardner-Johnson, who initially left the game in the first quarter to undergo a concussion test. He then left the field for a while after suffering an injury in the fourth quarter.
Young was 19-of-34 with 191 passing yards, a touchdown pass and one interception. Carolina fell to Philadelphia 22-16.
In the end, Young was devastated by the loss.

“There are no participation trophies, no consolation,” he said, via the group’s website. “The coach says: it’s about us, and when we deliver, we’re at our best. We can focus on that, and again, it’s not today’s comfort, but it gives us some things in the film to build on, the opportunity to identify the things we do well, how we continue to do them, how we build on them and a common sense of how we can improve on things.
“I think being in headspace is good for growth, but now it’s up to us to make sure we grow and take those steps.”
