Missouri lawmaker introduces $1K bill to crack down on illegal immigrants
Missouri’s incoming state attorney has introduced a bill to provide $1,000 to people who report illegal immigrants to authorities.
Sen. Republican state Rep. David Gregory has proposed a measure that would give $1,000 to any person who turns in an illegal immigrant who is later arrested.
SB 72 would allow the state Department of Public Safety to “develop an information system for people to report violations of this act that will include a toll-free phone number, email and an online reporting portal.”

The bill would also create the “Missouri Illegal Alien Certified Bounty Hunter Program” which would allow local residents to serve as bounty hunters “for the purpose of locating and arresting illegal aliens” in the state.
Only bail bond agents and bail recovery agents can apply to the program to act as bounty hunters.
The proposal would make it a crime for anyone to be in the state as an illegal immigrant.
ANOTHER BIG BLUE CITY VOWS TO STOP TRUMP’S PLAN TO MISLEAD THE MOST
“When I ran for the State Senate, I promised to make Missouri a national leader in the fight against illegal immigration,” Gregory said in a post on social media platform X.
“Now, I’m following through on my promise. SB 72 makes it a crime to be here illegally and the bill will allow Missouri law enforcement to find and arrest illegal immigrants,” he continued. “We need all hands on deck to make sure we catch illegal immigrants before they commit violent crimes.”
