Georgia quarterback Carson Beck leaves the SEC championship with an injury
Carson Beck left Saturday’s SEC title game after what Kirby Smart said was a hand injury.
With one second left in the first half, Beck looked to go deep for a try to give Georgia its first lead of the game.
However, he was hit as he threw, and his arm looked stiff.

Beck was quickly taken care of by coaches and trainers, and he was slow to go down. He ran off the field under his own power, but it was clear that something was wrong.
Speaking to ESPN at the end of the half, Smart said the injury wouldn’t be enough to keep him out of the game — alas, Georgia is now moving with Gunner Stockton. Smart then told ESPN at halftime that Beck would not be able to return.

With Beck in the middle, it wasn’t a good look for the Bulldogs, who managed to score in the first half.
But on the bright side, the Texas offense, led by Quinn Ewers, wasn’t much better – they put two balls on the field, and it was 6-3 to the Longhorns at the half.
With the loss, it would be the first time Georgia has lost three games since the 2018 season – this year marked its first loss to someone other than Alabama since 2020, when it lost to Ole Miss in Oxford.
