Valerie Bertinelli Shares Bikini Selfie To Highlight ‘Crazy’ Year

Valerie Bertinelli she feels proud of her body and wants the world to know it.

Bertinelli, 64, took to social media on Tuesday, December 3, to share a mirror selfie of herself in a bikini. Spotted in a black and white bikini as she flashed a small smile for the camera, the Food Network alum snapped an Instagram photo just before trying to color her roots.

“At some point I’m going to talk about the craziness I’ve been through this year,” he said of the mascot photo. “But right now all the frizzy and squishy bumps part of me just feels acceptable and I’m just happy to be standing in front of the mirror in a hotel bathroom in midtown Manhattan getting ready to color my roots late Monday night.”

The post came a few days after the celebrity chef posted on Instagram Stories that he had fallen and injured his knee. “I continue to have the knees of a 9-year-old because I fall more often than is comfortable for someone my age,” Bertinelli said in his Friday, November 29, post.

Bertinelli has written many important songs this past year as well as some serious health updates including his battle with anxiety.

On Sunday, November 17, Bertinelli uploaded a clip of his hand shaking, accompanied by a video with a bold caption. “So I don’t know if you can see in this video (and my heart is still beating fast as I write this) I had really bad anxiety today. I haven’t had anything like this for a long time,” he said in the video. “A few hours ago, I was crying uncontrollably, and my heart felt like it was jumping out of my chest. I couldn’t stop shaking.”

Bertinelli continued, “I want to share it because I’m sure I’m not the only one who has experienced this. Thankfully these attacks have become very rare, so this surprised me a bit today. This is the after effect. As I am experiencing a real attack (lol attack is such an appropriate word. My body and mind feel like they are really being attacked 😅).”

He added that his brain was “overthinking and catastrophizing” during the attack, causing his body to “go into overdrive,” noting that he was “out of control.”

Less than a month earlier, Bertinelli also shared a shocking injury to his arm, calling himself a klutz in an Instagram photo caption. “I was going to ask for hazard pay, but it was my big mistake,” he wrote along with the October 30 post. “I’ve been working on a really exciting new project that I can’t wait to tell you about and this is what happens when you literally trip over the corner of the stage and fall on your ass in front of the crew. And the whole audience.”
