Biden was seen with an anti-Israel letter in Nantucket

President Biden on Friday took a copy of a letter describing Israel as a colonial power in the face of Palestinian resistance despite his repeated support for the Jewish state.

Biden was seen by the media leaving Nantucket Bookworks holding a copy of “The Hundred Year War on Palestine: A History of Settler Colonialism and Resistance, 1917-2017” by outgoing Columbia University professor Rashid Khalidi, the New York Post reported.

“I don’t speak to the Post (or the Times for that matter), so this is not for publication, but my reaction is that it’s been four years,” Khalidi told the Post of Biden holding his letter.

This newspaper noted that it does not agree with any terms that put Khalidi’s answer as off the record or behind the scenes.

Fox News Digital reached out to Khaled and the White House.

The book states that “the modern history of Palestine can best be understood in these terms: as a colonial war fought against the indigenous people, by various groups, to force them to leave their land to other people against their will.”

It was not clear if Biden bought the letter or if it was given to him.

Khalidi, who is of Palestinian and Lebanese descent, called the Trump administration Israel’s “mouthpiece” and criticized Israel for its attacks on Gaza after Hamas killed about 1,200 people inside Israel on October 7, 2023, in addition to taking hostages. , including Americans.

“It is not clear, if you read the Israeli newspapers, what their political goal is. I mean, ethnic cleansing. That is not a political goal. They are doing that. They are driving the people of the Northern Gaza Strip to the Southern Gaza Strip. But what their political goal is, to me, is not clear. in the articles, as one might say, in the Israeli press,” he said on the “Intercepted” podcast in November 2023.

Biden has repeatedly announced his support for Israel but has been criticized by Israeli supporters for placing conditions on US aid to the Middle East ally and halting the shipment of heavy weapons to Israel earlier this year.

Meanwhile, Palestinian supporters, who nicknamed Biden “Genocide Joe,” have been increasingly critical of him and Netanyahu for the massacre in Gaza. Biden reportedly criticized his Israeli counterpart behind closed doors, the Post reported.

The letter, published in 2020 before Trump severed relations between Israel and five Muslim countries, criticized Trump for moving the US Embassy to Jerusalem and for overseeing Israel’s annexation of the Golan Heights, which it captured from Syria during the 1967 Six-Day War.

In the book, Khalidi wrote about Israeli policies that are said to discriminate against the Palestinian people.

“Settler-colonial conflicts with indigenous peoples have ended in one of three ways: by the complete subjugation of the indigenous people, as in North America; by the defeat and expulsion of the colonizer, as in Algeria, which is very rare. ; or by the abandonment of colonial rule, in a situation of compromise and reconciliation, as in South Africa , Zimbabwe, and Ireland,” he wrote.

He also praised the first Palestinian intifada against Israel, which took place from 1987 to 1993 and left more than 2,000 people dead, the Post wrote.

“The First Intifada was a prominent example of popular resistance against oppression and can be considered the first unmitigated victory of the Palestinians in the long colonial war that began in 1917,” the book said.
