Putin threatens to hit Kiev with a new missile in the middle of nowhere

Russian President Vladimir Putin has threatened to fire missiles at medium-range military targets in other areas of Ukraine, including the capital, Kiev.

The Kremlin is currently selecting targets for further strikes, he said at a meeting of the Russia-led Collective Security Treaty Organization in Kazakhstan’s capital, Astana.

“These could be military buildings, defense companies or decision-making centers in Kiev,” Putin said.

Speaking about last week’s strike against the Ukrainian industrial city of Dnipro with the new Oreshnik ballistic missile, he said: “We were forced to conduct tests under war conditions due to the attack on the Bryansk and Kursk areas by Western weapons, with Western weapons. ATACMS and missiles of Storm Shadow.”

Putin also praised Russia’s weapons system as unique, saying that when used in bulk, its destructive power is equal to that of a nuclear bomb.

He said Russia had fired 100 missiles and 466 drones at Ukraine in the past two days alone, describing the massive attack as a response to the delivery of Western weapons to Ukraine.
