Kerry suggests Africans without electricity should choose ‘the right kind of electricity’
Former Secretary of State John Kerry said there was an “emergency” and suggested that Africans without electricity should choose “the right kind of electricity,” possibly referring to green energy production, and that the US should help pay for it.
Kerry made these comments at a speaking event at the Harvard Kennedy School Institute of Politics on Nov. 21, 2024.
The Democrat suggested that there would be a need to “declare a climate emergency, which we really have. And we need to get people to behave as if this is a major global reform challenge.”
He mentioned that the US has the largest economy in the world, China is in second place.
