Valnet Threatens Lawsuit To Silence GFR Owner
Posted by Joshua Tyler | Updated
Lately, I’ve been using the X forum and this website to report on the current state of the online publishing industry.
Earlier this week, Valnet, the media company that owns websites such as Screen Rant, Game Rant, Movie Web, Collider, and CBR, issued a cease and desist letter saying that my journalism is “derogatory.”[s],” “contaminate[es] and damages[s] Valnet’s reputation,” “blaspheme[s] Valnet’s honesty,” means “harassment,” consists of “defamatory statements” and “intentionally and maliciously[s] false, frivolous and slanderous allegations about Valnet.”
Below are two of X’s posts cited in Valnet’s cease & desist letter as “illegal.”
The following is a full cease and desist letter sent to me by Miranda Ciavaglia, Valnet’s legal counsel, which includes many examples of submissions that Valnet believes may be effective.
