Israel moves forward on cease-fire deal with Hezbollah: reports

Israel is reportedly moving towards a ceasefire agreement with Hezbollah in Lebanon after a nearly year-long war escalated into a full-scale war in September.

Israeli media outlets including YNET and Haaretz reported that Israel has partially accepted the US-backed ceasefire proposal. No final agreement has been reached, according to reports.

Lebanon and the militant group Hezbollah reportedly agreed on the deal last week but both sides need a final agreement before it can happen.

The reported ceasefire agreement comes after Hezbollah launched its largest-ever rocket attack on Israel in exchange for Israeli military strikes on Hezbollah bases in Beirut.
