Red Sox Add José Flores, Parker Guinn to Coaching Staff
The Red Sox announced their 2025 coaching staff today. José Flores was named first base coach/infield coach while Parker Guinn was hired as catching/bullpen coach. Other names could be those who were brought back from 2024 or previously employed.
Flores, 53, is an insider. He spent the past three seasons as the bench coach for Triple-A Worcester. But this isn’t his first time on a major league staff, as he was the first base/infield coach for the Phillies and Orioles years before joining Worcester. He has worked for other minor league clubs and for the Puerto Rico team in the World Baseball Classic.
Guinn, 31, spent several years coaching at various schools and colleges before entering pro football. He spent the last two years as the Yankees’ manager in the Dominican Summer League. Before that, he spent time with the University of Washington, Everett Community College, the University of Utah, and Southern Illinois Edwardsville University.
