Draymond Green recently shared an amazing story about how the entire league is in awe of Steph Curry.
Green talked about last summer when another NBA player asked Green for Steph’s number and was nervous about what he would say to the leading three-point shooter when Draymond gave it to him.
“League boys, look [Steph] like this legendary hero,” Green told reporters after the team’s recent loss to the Clippers. “I had a great basketball player in the NBA, like an All-Star, hit me this summer because he wanted to talk to Steph. And it was all like, ‘Yo, so I’m not talking to Steph, can you give me her number?’
“I’m not going to just give somebody a number, so I just called Steph and said, ‘Yo, he–he wants your number,’ and he said, ‘Give it to him, of course.’ Then he asked me, ‘So how do I ask? [Steph]? I want to do this, how should I do it?,’ and I’m just like, ‘Ask him, what do you mean? Just ask him a question.’ “
Green noted how the entire basketball community feels about Steph.
“And you start to see that as the boys get older,” said Green, “And it’s not always just the little guys. So when people come to this group, their first reaction is, ‘Man [Steph] do so? Are you cool when you do this?’
“Just [Steph’s] behavior, is very inviting and puts everyone at ease. Then the boys feel comfortable on the basketball court.”
Curry best defined the game of basketball with his three-point shooting and shot selection skills.
Not to mention that his four championship streak ended the Warriors’ reign and is something that probably won’t happen again in anyone’s lifetime.
