Logan Paul takes on journalist with stunt double in controversial interview: ‘Why do you look so different to me?’

A freelance journalist working for the BBC sat down with Logan Paul believing he was a wrestler, only to discover his subject was a stunt double wearing an earpiece.

Paul posted a video on YouTube on Thursday titled “I toured the BBC looking like myself,” in which he revealed his process for preparing a man, identified as Rodney, to pose as himself during a sit-down with reporter Matt Shea.

Shea first contacted Paul for an interview a few months ago about the YouTube star’s alleged cryptocurrency dealings as part of a BBC documentary he was working on titled, “Logan Paul: A Bad Influence?” Deadline reported.

After several unanswered requests, Paul finally agreed to meet with Shea at his boxing gym in Puerto Rico, according to the outlet, but it was Rodney, not Paul, who showed up for the interview.

“You actually think it’s me, what a dumbass–,” Paul said in the video as he spoke into Rodney’s ear.

The WWE wrestler, who has more than 23 million followers on YouTube, said he flew Rodney to Puerto Rico the day before the interview so the two men could “practice” manipulating Shea.

“We had ready answers for whatever Matt was going to throw at us again [we were] it’s ready for any outcome,” says Paul.

Shea can be seen asking Rodney a series of prepared questions while Paul speaks into a device attached to his earpiece. A few minutes into the interview, Shea seems stuck.

“Why do you look so different to me? Is it just me or is he different?” Shea asked his photographer.

“I have to say that the real Logan Paul looks very different…,” continued Shea, visibly frustrated. “Is Logan coming?”

“I’m here honey,” Rodney replied.

Shea then ended the interview and headed for the door without contacting Paul.

“Frustrated, frustrated and unfulfilled, the BBC boys were kicked out of town. They couldn’t go fast enough,” Paul said in the video.

The BBC released a report on Wednesday saying it had seen “new evidence” that Paul had promoted crypto investments without revealing that he had a financial interest in them.

Paul, in his video, vehemently denied allegations that he misled fans about cryptocurrency for his own gain, criticizing Shea’s BBC documentary as just another “wrestler beatdown episode.”

“As I have said before, and I will continue, I did not scam anyone. I made zero dollars from this alleged CryptoZoo scam. I don’t know how many times I have to say it…shut the f— up,” he said.

Shea spoke of Paul’s surprise at X after the video was released, writing, “This guy will do anything but sit down and answer the allegations,” attaching a link to a documentary about Paul.

Shea did not respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.
