Khris Middleton Gets Murky Injury Update

Bucks fans are in dire need of some good news as the team sits at 6-9 on the season, but unfortunately Khris Middleton is not back yet.

Bucks quarterback Khris Middleton has been medically cleared for an extended period of time, which sounds like good news right?

However, Shams says he is “still working to feel ready for the start of his season since undergoing two ankle surgeries in the offseason, sources told ESPN on Wednesday.”

Milwaukee needs a forward now more than ever. He has reportedly increased his court work and has completed playing 3-on-3 consistently over the past few weeks.

But what worries him is that he was already back playing now. His recovery and playing time “took longer than people in the organization expected”, Shams said.

Bucks coach Doc Rivers talked about Middleton and how he looked Wednesday, “He looks good. He works his butt. Listen, I think you’re close. And you will continue to work. This is the best I’ve ever seen, I’ll say that.”

Rivers coached Middleton in just 15 regular season games due to injury.

Bucks doctors including Middleton, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard played only seven games together under Doc.

When Middleton last spoke to reporters at the end of October, he said, “I feel good, I’m not good enough to play that’s all.”

Some around the league are calling for the injured player to be traded, as Milwaukee needs some depth.

Greg Swartz of Bleacher Report suggests a solution that would send Portland Trail Blazers 3-DD forward Jerami Grant to Milwaukee, in exchange for Middleton’s contract and a 2031 first-round draft pick.
