Kelly Stafford Says Her Podcast Is ‘Really Thanks to Taylor Swift’

Kelly Stafford credits Taylor Swiftsoccer connection to help him grow his podcasting empire.

During the interview with the singer and actress Jana Kramer on the Sunday, November 17, episode of his podcast “Whine Down,” Stafford said the football-themed episodes of his show, called “Timeout,” blossomed because of Swift’s relationship with the Kansas City Chiefs star. Travis Kelce.

“‘Timeout’ is a tribute to Taylor Swift because she got more women into football,” explained Stafford.

Stafford releases two episodes of his podcast “The Morning After” each week, with Tuesday episodes called “Timeout” focusing on football and teaching listeners the fundamentals of the game.

“As I’m doing this, I realize how much I can do,” said Stafford, who is married to the Los Angeles Rams quarterback. Matthew Stafford.

He added, “It’s harder than I thought to be able to get in and out. I know the basics, which helps me to look at it. But that’s what ‘Timeout’ is. It’s basically learning the basics so that people can enjoy it more when they watch it with their significant other.”

Kelly launched “The Morning After” in 2021, shortly after her husband was traded to the Rams after spending the first 12 seasons of his NFL career with the Detroit Lions. The couple, who married in April 2015, share four daughters: twins Sawyer again Chandler7, A hunter6, again Tyler4.

“I was really tired and down on a lot of things — as a parent, as a wife, with my looks,” Stafford said of that time in her life.

Kelly explained how she saw the podcast as a vehicle to embrace the chaos of modern motherhood and relationships.

“I just wanted to create a place where we can talk about our best,” said Kramer, 40. “Maybe we’ll mix it up and talk about some of our failures so we don’t feel alone when you fail.”

On the subject of Swift, 34, Stafford recently got real about how she struggled with the amount of attention the pop star’s relationship with Kelce, 35, received in their early days.

“I will say, I got tired of the Chiefs’ coverage of it, actually the NFL’s coverage, of this budding relationship last year,” Kelly said on the Oct. 30 episode of “The Morning After.”

He added, “It was a good business decision for the NFL, but I almost felt like it was over the games. That’s what bothered me. I was a little jealous that all this was being taken care of and suddenly the game of football had become a side game. So, maybe I let jealousy get the better of me.”
