Supernatural ran for an incredible 15 seasons, and many fans continue to celebrate the horror show long after it aired its final episode. Now, fans of the show have something special to celebrate…the real-life union of two of the show’s most unlikely stars. Supernatural stars Ruth Connell (who played Rowena MacLeod, the Queen of Hell) and Rob Benedict (who played God himself) are engaged.

It could be both Supernatural the stars wanted to keep the fact that they are now engaged for a long time. However, Benedict was in Salute to Boys at a meeting in New Jersey recently, and during the panel, he referred to his longtime friend Connell as “my fiancee.” Now, the two have confirmed their engagement, and fans everywhere are looking forward to what the famous English author William Blake might have called a wedding in Heaven and Hell given the nature of their very different characters.
Although their characters may be very different from each other, that didn’t stop Benedict and Connell from hitting it off behind the camera. It is not clear exactly when their relationship began, but in 2020, fans began to piece together strong clues, including the fact that they were seen together on the same camera during a Zoom event aimed at raising money for politics. They have been more open about their relationship in recent years, however Supernatural fans were still surprised and happy to hear that they are engaged.
Welcoming a Baby in January
Yes, some of those fans felt that marriage was inevitable between Benedict and Connell because their baby girl was born on January 12 of this year. Looking at the posts on social media, two things are very clear: the only thing these two love more than the other is their child. I Supernatural the stars seem like great parents, and as fans of the show ourselves, we’re pumped that they’re engaged and will soon be husband and wife (as of yet, no wedding date has been officially set).
It’s interesting though Supernatural As the fandom celebrates the two getting engaged, we’ve all been looking back at some of the unexpected romances the show has created. The most famous example of this is that series lead Jared Padalecki met his future wife Genevieve when she joined the fourth season of the show in 2008; the happy couple got married in 2010. In addition, Supernatural stars DJ Qualls and Ty Olsson have never met on screen, but after meeting and falling in love at the show’s fan convention, they announced their engagement earlier this year.
All About Love
There is some irony here, of course: after all, Supernatural is a show about two brothers who have to fight demons and whatever else goes bump in the night episode by episode. However, off the screen, the show seems to be about love, both in the endless fan service of the actors and the actors themselves often find each other. It’s a feeling for Padalecki’s character Boys sure we can be funny, but we love what many love Supernatural the actors proved that their love is stronger than any demon.
