Signature death games on Squid game were mostly kept under the trailer for Season 2. Red Light, Green Light seems to be unchanged from the first season, a big giant robot doll and more. Flashes of other games are evident, including three identical doors facing off in what could be a forced choice game and what appears to be a contestant narrowly missing an opportunity to enter through an iron door in what appears to be some sort of race.

Despite the relative lack of new details in the trailer, Squid game The season 2 trailer has been viewed more than 29 million times on YouTube, proving the show’s immense popularity. It was also a hit with critics, earning a 95 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.

The Most Anticipated New Release of the Year

Squid game Season 2 will see significant talent returning both on and off screen. Lee Jung-Jae will be joined in the cast by Wi Ha-Joon, who reprises his role as Detective Hwang Jun-ho, who entered the drama in the first season. Most importantly, the show’s creator, Hwang Dong-hyuk, is returning as writer, director, and producer for the sequel.

That’s all confirmed Squid game Season 2 will be one of the biggest TV shows of the year, given the title’s pop culture appeal, but it will be interesting to see how well it holds up to the original. Dong-huk has proven that he can deliver a good story, but keeping viewers invested despite the novelty of the new premise will be a new challenge for the show. The new season will premiere on December 26, 2024, on Netflix.
