A British university student was arrested at Los Angeles International Airport on suspicion of trying to smuggle 13 white t-shirts laced with methamphetamine.
Myah Saakwa-Mante, 20, is charged with possession of illegal drugs with intent to distribute, among other charges.

Prosecutors say Saakwa-Mante was caught at LAX on Nov. 2 trying to smuggle methamphetamine into Australia, according to a criminal complaint obtained by Fox News Digital.

Customs officials discovered the fraud within the case after checking his flight to Brisbane, Australia, the criminal complaint said.

Prosecutors said the methamphetamine was “wet and packed in about 13 white T-shirts under the inside lining of the suitcase.” The rest of the contraband was ground into powder, according to the criminal complaint.

Officers tested the white powder, which tested positive for methamphetamine, the criminal complaint said. The combined weight of the methamphetamine-laced t-shirts weighed 13 kilograms, or less than 30 pounds.

Saakwa-Mante was stopped at the gate and asked about the suitcase. He admitted that the suitcase was his and that he bought the white T-shirts from the target company using Apple Pay, according to the criminal complaint. He also confirmed that he had the receipts, the criminal complaint said.

Saakwa-Mante told officers he was a university student living and studying in the UK and had been visiting the US for two days, according to the criminal complaint. She said she was heading to Australia to meet her boyfriend, “whom she had never met in person.”
When the officials asked him about the white powder on the t-shirts, he said he had no knowledge about it.
The police escorted Saakwa-Mante to the bag check point and took his two iPhones before arresting him.
