‘Back in Action’ star Glenn Close is enjoying the ‘modest’ life in Montana, and hasn’t looked back

“Back in Action” star Glenn Close is enjoying life in Bozeman, Montana.

In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, Vala explained that since moving to Montana in 2019, he has adapted to the lifestyle.

“Today, my home is in Bozeman, Mont. All my siblings live here. My brick house, built in 1892, has a deck where I can see the mountains and say hello to the neighbors,” he told the outlet.

After several years in Big Sky Country, Close is looking to expand his property portfolio.

“I’m building a bigger house about half an hour outside of town,” he said.

“Today, my home is in Bozeman, Mont. All my siblings live here. My brick house, built in 1892, has a deck where I can see the mountains and say hello to the neighbors.”

“It will be my Zen farmhouse and our family sanctuary. In the background will be a small stone house, which reminds me of the best years of my childhood.”

In 2021, Close spoke with Mountain Outlaw about leaving New York City for Montana a year before the world came to a standstill due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

“I shot a film in Canada in the winter. It was fun and exciting, but I was homesick, and so was I he never misses home.

“Bozeman’s not only my home, but I couldn’t wait to get back here. When I left for that job, Jessie and Tina were there to see me at the airport. It was great. I’m here. I see how scared I was to leave,” Close told the outlet at the time.

Close’s sister, Jessie, lives next door, and her sister, Tina, lives nearby. Close’s two brothers, Alexander and Tambu Misoki, also live in Montana.

“When I was young, I found solace in nature, and that has never changed,” Close said. “I always tried to create the same opportunities for my family, especially now to come back here and be with my siblings and find a place outside the city that will always be there for my daughter and her children.”

“That’s my legacy,” he added.

At the time, Close described his years living in Montana as the “best” years of his life.

“You can wake up at four in the morning and think you’ve made all the wrong decisions in your life, and then you stay awake until dawn, which is an incredibly deadly place,” said the award-winning actor. “I feel incredibly lucky. I think these are going to be the best years of my life.”

Close’s life was not always peaceful. The “Hillbilly Elegy” star is notorious as a member of the Moral Re-Armament cult.

During Close’s interview with the WSJ, he explained that his “world changed” when he was seven, and his family joined a cult. It wasn’t until 1970, when Close was 22, that he broke with the cult.

Moral Re-Armament, also known as MRA, was a religious movement that began in the 1920s when a man named Frank Buchman began to preach the gospel and became successful with it. Some of the beliefs emphasize the importance of surrendering to a higher power and the practice of solitude. Over the years, he attracted thousands of followers from several countries.

When World War II as the world was filled, Buchman made the decision to name the group Moral Re-Armament, explaining that he planned to use spiritual things to unite the world and bring peace. Critics of the group scoffed at his simplistic idea, but others were fascinated by it. One of those people was Glenn Close’s father.

After joining the group, he went to work in Africa, while Close and his siblings were stationed in Switzerland at the MRA headquarters. In a 2014 interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the actor explained the strict rules and manipulation that goes on behind the scenes.

“Basically you weren’t allowed to do anything, or you were made to feel guilty for any unnatural desire,” he explained. “If you talk to anyone who was in a group that basically dictated how you should live and what you should say and how you should feel, from the time you’re seven years old to the time you get it.” re 22, it has a big impact on you It’s something you should do [consciously overcome] because all your triggers are there.”

In 1970, when Close was 22, he left the club but was still struggling.

“I can have dreams, because I haven’t been to any psychiatrist or anything,” he told The Hollywood Reporter. “I dreamed these dreams, which started with betrayal, a feeling of betrayal, and I started being able to look at these people and say, ‘You’re wrong. And then the last incarnation of those dreams was me being able to get up and walk away and I didn’t have them anymore.
