Collin Morikawa, and two others from the Farmers Insurance Open
World No. 4 Collin Morikawa was one of three golfers to withdraw from Sunday’s Farmers Insurance Open.
Morikawa joined Denmark’s Nicolai Højgaard and Tyler McCumber in bowing out of the 156-hole golf course at the prestigious Torrey Pines in San Diego. Their place will be taken by Wesley Bryan, Hayden Springer and SH Kim from South Korea, respectively.
No official reasons have been announced for the departure.
The news comes one day after world No. 2 Xander Schauffele confirmed he is pulling out of the event due to a “medical issue.”
Morikawa finished second at The Sentry in his only start of the calendar year.
The Farmers Insurance Open is contested from Wednesday through Saturday as a way to avoid having to play the final round against next Sunday’s NFL championship games.
