Patrick Mahomes Hopes His Family Is Set For ‘A Moment’ After Baby No. 3
Patrick Mahomes he likes to celebrate Kansas City Chiefs playoff victories and milestones with his family by his side.
“It was a special game, with everyone here in Kansas City from the organization to the community, the team and my family,” Mahomes, 29, said at a press conference on Saturday, January 18. “I’m just trying to enjoy it. I still remember the moments from the World Series my dad, [Patrick Sr.]I played when I was 5 years old. So, these are the moments I will have with my family for the rest of my life.β
Patrick and his wife, Brittany Mahomesthey are parents to daughter Sterling, 3, son Bronze, 2, and newborn daughter Golden, one week old. (Brittany, 29, brought their older children to Saturday’s game.)
βIt’s a growing family, though [I] I hope we’re done growing up for a while,β Patrick joked. “It’s great that I can play in these big games and the community of Kansas City has brought me to be a part of their family.”
Patrick, the Chiefs’ starting quarterback, led the Missouri football team to victory over the Houston Texans on Saturday. The Chiefs’ win in the play offs cemented their place in the AFC Championship at the end of the month. Of course, the winner of the AFC title – the Chiefs will play the Baltimore Ravens or the Buffalo Bills – will advance to the Super Bowl in February.
Before Saturday’s game, Patrick got a lucky side hug from Brittany. The mother of three wore a beige coat with Patrick’s words βNo. 15β in the pockets next to the cream sweater and red pants.
One week earlier, Brittany gave birth to daughter Golden during the Chiefs’ bye week. (The team received a first-round bye before the playoffs after earning the No. 1 seed in the AFC and home-field advantage.)
βWe went back and forth [on the name] for a while,” said Brittany Today before her delivery. “But the one we settled on, we really like him.”
Meanwhile, Brittany also talked about Sterling and Bronze’s reaction to their little sister.
βEverything [Bronze] he says ‘I want my sister,’ and he asks to see my stomach,” Brittany recalled. “Although I am not sure if it is registered that a real person is coming. And Sterling is totally worried. He loves playing with children.β
Patrick’s relatives have also been living on the moon since Golden’s arrival.
“[My mom is] Grandi, that’s what she calls herself,” Patrick told reporters on Saturday about his mother. Rand. βOur kids love him and he’s been a part of my whole life taking me to those baseball games. β¦ Those are the things you will remember forever. He’s here today, and I’m sure he’ll be ready to take care of those grandkids tonight.”
