ABC News anchor Martha Raddatz joined “The View” panelists Thursday and said President-elect Trump’s team “obviously influenced” the cease-fire agreement between Israel and Hamas.
“Yes, there are families of hostages on the street in Tel Aviv who say that Donald Trump helped to end this, and they have been working together. It has been done so far,” said Raddatz when asked by his partner Alyssa Farah Griffin about the role played by Trump.
“But you’ve heard President-elect Trump say there will be hell to pay if the hostages are not released, if there is no ceasefire agreement before he takes office. And it seems to resonate there. Whether it really puts Hamas. over the line, we don’t know about that, but it had some impact that those officials of the administration working together seemed to make a real difference to hear President Biden say, ‘Do you think Donald Trump is entirely to blame for this?’ But they obviously had some kind of impact,” he added.
President Biden, who talked about the ceasefire in his speech on Wednesday, also took issue with a question from Fox News White House reporter Jacqui Heinrich about whether Trump deserves credit for the deal.

Biden touted the ceasefire during his farewell address on Wednesday.
“American people, I am speaking to you tonight from the Oval Office. Before I begin, let me address the important issues from earlier today. After eight months of non-stop negotiations, my administration – by my administration – a cease-fire and a hostage agreement have been reached by Israel and Hamas, which are things I laid out in detail in May of this year,” Biden said in his opening remarks.
Israel and Hamas reached a ceasefire agreement on Wednesday that also guaranteed the release of the hostages. A recent meeting between Trump’s incoming Middle East envoy, Steve Witkoff, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reportedly played a key role in the deal, sources told Fox News Digital.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has accused Hamas of reneging on the deal with new demands and delayed a Cabinet vote on the deal indefinitely.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken said on Thursday that he expects the agreement between Israel and Hamas to go into effect on Sunday.
“I think this week has been another reminder of the strength and purpose of American leadership and American diplomacy. In more than 15 months of devastating conflict between Israel and Hamas, we have worked to forge an agreement that will bring the hostages home, that will stop the fighting, that will improve humanitarian aid to the people who need it most. space to end with a permanent ceasefire,” said Blinken.
