Patrick Mahomes Watched Football As Wife Brittany Prepared For Birth
After announcing the birth of their third child, the star quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs Patrick Mahomes shared details of how he spent his time in the hospital.
Just after the start of the new year, Patrick and Brittany Mahomes welcomed their second daughter, Golden Raye, into the world on Sunday, January 12.
In accordance with Sports IllustratedPatrick revealed during a press conference that he was able to sneak into playoff preparation while Brittany was preparing to give birth.
“I just support you, you know. Brittany crushed it. “It was great to welcome another baby girl into our family and see how my other children react to her,” said Patrick.
“It was nice that football was on TV when I was in the hospital, so I got to watch a little,” he said.
“Brittany was kind enough to let us watch football as she prepared to give birth to our second daughter.”
Patrick and Brittany are also parents to 3-year-old Sterling Skye and 2-year-old Patrick “Bronze” Lavon Mahomes III.
Patrick was able to be there when the third child was born after the Chiefs topped the AFC, giving them a bye in the first round of the playoffs.
“It was nice that we went well,” he told reporters, according to KSBY, “because you can focus more on just being in the hospital and being present.”
“It’s a special time that many fathers and mothers have experienced, and you don’t forget those things. So I was happy that I was able to be there and support in the best way I could.”
After the Chiefs coach Andy Reid joked that “when you’re three, four and five it’s easy,” Patrick, who Reid described as a “great” dad, said “he’s good with three at the moment.”
