MSNBC host Rashida Jones is leaving the network days before Trump returns to the White House

MSNBC president Rashida Jones stepped down from her position Tuesday, Fox News Digital confirmed.

Jones announced his decision on the phone with most of the MSNBC staff, according to a source close to the outgoing manager who said the talent was Jones on the phone.

Rebecca Kutler, senior vice president of content strategy, has been named interim president of MSNBC.

Jones’ decision comes days before President-elect Donald Trump returns to the White House. He managed the freedom network for about four years.

Jones will reportedly remain in the advisory position until March.
