If you’re a fan of legal dramas, you’re probably already familiar with the Netflix original series Lincoln’s lawyerwhich recently aired its third season on the streamer. If the title sounds familiar, you may have read one of the many books in the book Lincoln Lawyer a series of novels, written by the American writer Michael Connelly, or he saw the film that accompanies the film in 2011 with Matthew McConaughey. While each iteration of the classic legal story has its merits, the Netflix series delivers a well-rounded and interesting look at these characters and situations in the present.
Lincoln’s attorney
For those who don’t know, Lincoln’s lawyer centers on a hot Los Angeles attorney who likes to surf, lay down the law in court, and study cases and legal precedents in the backseat of his chauffeur-driven Lincoln Navigator.
The lawyer in question, Mickey Haller, is focused on eliminating corruption in the courts, which makes him the enemy of debt-taking judges, dirty cops, and murderers who have framed innocent citizens for their crimes. Along the way, Haller is helped by his driver Izzy, his best friend Cisco, and his two ex-wives, both working in the courts.
While the summary of Lincoln’s attorney makes the series sound cheap- and it can be at times, the show is actually more interesting than it might seem at first glance. The critics have flooded in Lincoln’s attorney with praise, resulting in the series taking home a critical 90 percent certified fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with an impressive 100 percent rating for the third season.
As the show progressed, subsequent seasons saw the notorious lawyer take down drug cartels, team up with misunderstood low-level criminals to expose widespread corruption, and feud with local property owners rumored to be mob-backed.
Actors
Manuel Garcia-Rulfo leads the cast of Lincoln’s attorney as Mickey Haller, alongside an ensemble cast that includes Becki Newton, Angus Sampson, Jazz Raycole, Yaya DaCosta, and Shout outNeve Campbell. The series was originally conceived and developed by the two producers of David E. Kelley and Ted Humphrey, and was intended to release on CBS back in 2020.
Due to concerns about the COVID-19 pandemic, Lincoln’s attorney was canceled before its premiere, but was given renewed life on Netflix. While this may have seemed like an upheaval at the time for the cast and crew, the network’s switch was actually a blessing, as Netflix allowed Mickey and his co-stars to be more raunchy, sleazy and sexier than CBS. you probably would have agreed.
Streaming on Netflix
Personally, I never expected to enjoy it Lincoln’s attorneyalthough I was introduced by a colleague during a recent assignment. After watching a few episodes to get the gist of the show, I finally got excited about the chaotic story, and binge-watched the whole thing. Season 3 is the strongest collection of episodes so far, although the showrunners have teased big things for the future.
At the time of writing this, Lincoln’s attorney has yet to officially receive a season 4 renewal, though it seems like a no-brainer given how popular the show has become. Either way, those who like to check out the 3 seasons are there Lincoln’s lawyer can stream the show on Netflix.
