A petition calling for the resignation of LA Mayor Karen Bass has over 92,000 signatures

More than 92,000 people have signed a Change.org petition since Sunday morning calling for Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass to resign as the fire continues to burn in the area.

The petition was started by a user named “Frustrated Californian” who accused Bass of “mismanagement” during the natural disaster, even announcing that he was out of the country when the fire started.

Bass took the heat during an overseas trip to Ghana last week, meaning he was thousands of miles away from his home town at the time. the first day of destruction on tuesday.

“Water has been heavily diverted, billions of taxpayer dollars have been misappropriated or misplaced, and many people have died,” the petition continued.

Before the public scrutinized his response to the wildfires ravaging Los Angeles, Bass was widely respected by prominent members of the Democratic Party.

President Biden once considered Bass a candidate for the 2020 presidential election, and former President Barack Obama previously predicted that he would be an “outstanding mayor” for the city.
