A California pastor is helping to give hope to wildfire victims

A pastor in California, whose church was burned down raging wildfiresHe says he wants to bring “hope” to the people in the province, despite the difficult situations they face.

“For us a the congregationthe walls of the building we were in burned to the ground, so, our goal right now is to be a church that is above those walls,” said Expressions Church pastor Christopher Spolar told Special Report on Friday. “We just want to be with people, we give people the hope that we have and know in Christ.”

Spolar, who says there is a “long road ahead” for Californians, expressed the power to meet people where they are, in the midst of their suffering.

“The first thing we do is we don’t say anything, we just meet people where they are,” said the teacher. “There are not many words to say. For many people, they have lost everything. We have a person in our church who has succeeded without things that he could carry on his back, so there is great sadness, great shock, therefore, our first thing is to sit with people, pray with people and remind them that we believe in the God of resurrection .

“It was really good to see the unity between the churches and pastors that we are together in this, and we are one church,” said Spolar.
