Broadcaster Charlamagne tha God seemed surprised by the exit polls showing that President-elect Trump won 33% of the White voters, saying the reason is related to kitchen table issues.

“What do you think about the demographics here? I mean, Trump got one in three voters of color,” said ABC’s Jon Karl, as Charlamagne looked surprised. The announcer said, “no,” and asked again, “really?”

Karl noted the results of a national exit poll, which found that 1 in 3 voters of color supported Trump in the 2024 election.

“When you say color, do you mean, Black, brown, everything? Oh. Well, I think, you know, people have different issues that they care about. And I don’t think anybody out there is a single-issue voter. . . I think some of this is a racial backlash. and gender and identity politics, most people, just care about keeping food on the table and keeping a roof over their head.

“And I think sometimes people forget about that. I think they forget, you know, the working class. For whatever reason, Donald Trump speaks to the grievances of the working class in a very real way. And I keep telling people, people forget what you did there, forget what you said, but they’ll never forget how you did it they feel it,” he continued.

Charlamagne also pointed out that Harris’ campaign was dead right from the start when he took over from President Biden, and said he deserves a lot of credit for his campaign.

“The campaign was dead with Biden. I know people made a lot of jokes all weekend about the Bernie thing, and they were saying things like, I’d vote for Biden if he was a corpse. Yeah, he was very close. And, you know, there was no life, and I think the vice president made a lot of people sit on the couch and pay attention and at least be curious about Biden, everyone was just taken out. He’s gone,” he said.

He recently pointed out that Democrats stopped calling Trump a fascist and a threat to democracy after his election.

“Don’t you find it surprising that since he won, they didn’t call him a danger to democracy? They don’t call him Fascist. I mean, that’s what they called him on Monday,” added Charlamagne.

“I would think that, you know, if you really believe that, then someone’s talk is going to be about how America has progressed and that things are going to get really bad. It makes you wonder how much they really believe, or if it was just politics,” he said.
