Florida men’s basketball coach breaks silence amid allegations of sexual misconduct
The Florida Gators men’s basketball coach, Todd Golden, said in a statement on Saturday that he will consider a defamation case as it was revealed that the school is investigating allegations of misconduct against him.
Golden posted a statement on social media, admitting the crime.

“Over the past month, I have taken an active role in and respected the confidentiality of the school’s ongoing investigation,” the statement read. “I recently spoke with Ken Turkel to advise me on my ability to bring defamation claims during this confidential investigation.
“My family and I appreciate the support we have received and hope that the university will continue its efforts to complete its review properly.”

Golden’s comments come a day after the Independent Florida Alligator reported that the school has opened an investigation into allegations of sexual harassment, sexual exploitation, stalking and cyberstalking by multiple women, including students, against him.
The newspaper reported that Golden is facing allegations of unwanted sex on Instagram, asking for sexual favors and posting pictures and videos of her private parts. The newspaper cited the Title IX complaint filed on September 29.
Golden, 39, signed a two-year contract extension in March that included a $1 million raise and brought his annual salary to $4 million.

He remains with the team during the investigation and led an on-campus practice Saturday before the game hosts Grambling State in Gainesville.
