Post Malone presents Houston bartender and single mom with $20,000 tip on Christmas Eve
Santa Claus wasn’t the only one giving out presents on Christmas Eve.
According to Renee Brown, a single mom who works at a bar at The Railyard in Houston, Texas, rapper Post Malone channeled his inner Kris Kringle, giving her a big tip on a day that started off weird from the start.
Brown says her holiday plans deviated from her usual routine, which she usually spends with her 9-year-old daughter, Iliana.
“We usually bake cookies and watch Christmas movies, and it’s the first time I’ve been able to do that,” she told Music Mayem magazine of her regular plans.

“I work two jobs and homeschool my daughter. I’m always tired,” he explained. “We’ve been without a car for two years. And we just moved after losing everything and starting over in August of 2024.
“The day started slowly, and I was just taking it as it was, trying to be nice to others while dealing with not being able to spend Christmas Eve with my daughter,” Brown recalled. But things were about to change when Post Malone, whose real name is Austin Post, arrived at his bar with his friends and fellow singer, Shaboozey, to enjoy a quiet night.
“At first I didn’t know [Malone] I was there until one of my co-workers at my second job came in and told me that Austin was out on the porch,” Brown said. “I thought he was kidding me at first, and then I kept seeing people coming out. [and] I continued making drinks for about 30 minutes before curiosity got the better of me, and lo and behold, there he was.
“I told all my roommates not to be weird and bother her as it’s the local pub, and I’m sure she chose such a place to feel normal.”
The Railyard, described as a place with no illusions, no pretensions, has changed due to the presence of the “Circles” singer.
“It was amazing to see everyone so happy and to see how kind they were to all the people who spend their days with me,” she said. “Everyone she was with was kind and inviting. We had a great night singing along to the jukebox.”

Good vibes could be heard throughout the room, but things got better for Brown.
“When Austin asked for his check, he didn’t have it because so many regular people and his friends were buying his drinks,” Brown said. Intending to suggest to Brown, the rapper insisted that he be paid something.
“So he asked me to call him a dime or something, so I did. I proceeded to close and collect all my checks and started putting in my tips. Then I got to his. It was a 20,000 dollar tip.”

“I just cried. It was a very painful night when I wasn’t at home, I was crowded in the bar, trying to process that they were there and I got a tip at the top,” he said. Working two jobs, Brown says Malone’s gift has been a real life changer.
“This has put me in a position where I can at least find a way to get back and forth from work and pay the rent and save a little. I’m trying to save up to start a business, so I don’t have to keep working two jobs and I can spend more time with my daughter. Things have been very difficult, and this was really a blessing that I can’t fully explain. Visit It alone was absolutely amazing and something I could talk about for the rest of my life.
“I finally got a chance to stop cleaning and talk to him a little more and thank him,” said Brown, sharing his gratitude with Malone. “I know I was crying thanking him, but he doesn’t know exactly what this means to me.”
Brown shared photos of himself and the rapper on Instagram, adding that the singer was “putting down a humble celebrity” who he had “the pleasure of meeting.”

Although he was able to thank Malone in person, Brown reiterated his appreciation in the interview. “If this message reaches him, I know that I told him that night how grateful I am, but I would like to repeat that he helped me in a way that I can’t even describe,” she said. “My best friend [Matthew] and I’ve been a big fan of his for years, and it was amazing to meet him and experience him at that time. “
A representative for the singer, who will tour with musical guest Jelly Roll starting in April, did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.
