Harry Potter’s James and Oliver Phelps Return to Hogwarts for a New Show

From Nosebleed Nougat to Puking Pastilles, the confections created by Harry PotterFred and George Weasley had some serious side effects. But James again Oliver Phelpswho played the role in all eight films, presents only goodies as hosts of the new Food Network series, Harry Potter: The Wizard’s Baking.

Outside of London, pastry chefs and pastry chefs take Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden, home of the original sets now featuring challenges in the reality competition show. Culinary judges Carla Hall again Joseph Joseph join the Phelps twins, 38, to revisit the iconic film franchise while also indulging in some compelling shows.

And one struck the stick and said, “Action guest stars” to name Warwick Davis (Professor Flitwick), Bonnie Wright (Ginny Weasley) and Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood)? I Harry Potter alums make a special appearance on the show, which premieres on the Food Network on Thursday, November 14, at 8 pm ET.

James: Most people have heard of fasting Harry Potter in some way, shape or form, whether they’ve read books, seen movies or just heard people talk about it. Every episode of the show is based on the theme of the set. So, we’re filming the series in Leavesden where we shot the original movies, so what works well is that it’s actually all these top bakers and chefs who are imaginations from the movies that come out in edible forms.

What was it like revisiting iconic sets like Platform 9 ¾ and Diagon Alley?

Oliver: In a way, it was like you just jumped in time. It might be a day later than when we finished filming. It’s amazing how when you’re in such a focused place, you almost go back to that feeling of when we were recording.

James: [In 2000]our first day at Leavesden was in the Great Hall, when all the first came in and looked around, in awe. When the bakers entered the Great Hall for the first time, they literally made that reaction. That was really fun.

Are there any secret nods or details in the set that Potterheads can look out for?

Oliver: There are a lot of different nods to certain elements of the Wizarding World in there. If you look carefully, there’s a subtle nod to boxes of chocolate frogs or a quidditch pitch in the background. There is no doubt that the viewers will really enjoy watching it and just get thrown into the Wizarding World.

James: The flavors they came out with were amazing. One contestant made a mango caramel to fit inside the bake. Someone from Mexico brought a Mexican flavor to his baking – a completely new way of looking at it, but it worked.

James: I’m so glad to see you [what the audience thinks] of the ideas the contestants came up with each week. That is exactly what they would do, or it makes them think, “I would do this instead.” Then, maybe they can go and create it themselves.

Oliver: I’m looking forward to seeing James try “molecular gastronomy.”

James: I hope they have that planned.
