Martha Stewart says Ryan Reynolds isn’t funny in real life, after having her as a neighbor.

One of the reasons is that Deadpool and Wolverine it was a great success that Ryan Reynolds is very funny…a natural comedian who always gives “great effort” to his lines on screen. After seeing him in role after role, we always thought he would be just as funny off screen. One famous neighbor doesn’t think so: Martha Stewart recently appeared in a magazine Rent Free game show and declared that Ryan Reynolds “isn’t that funny in real life.”

The gist of this is that he was asked to predict which celebrities who responded to the show would be fun to live with. He quickly responded that his friend Snoop Dogg should be on the list, but then revealed Deadpool and Wolverine star. According to Stewart, Ryan Reynolds is “less funny” and instead “more serious” when the cameras aren’t rolling.
Even with the full context, Stewart’s comments appear to be humorous, although we’d expect nothing less from the taciturn celebrity. After naming Snoop Dogg as a celebrity that audiences would want to associate with, he brought up his neighbor without being asked. “Maybe he’s on the list because he hides himself in his movies and you don’t see his face – Ryan Reynolds, are you one of those?” he asked about the funniest addition to the MCU.

Afterwards, Martha Stewart revealed that her preferred celebrities would be Brad Pitt and George Clooney because “I would like to meet those people.” When Bilt CEO Ankur Jain brought up Taylor Swift, Stewart admitted that she was only thinking about men, saying “Taylor Swift is adorable.” He then gave a personal top three ranking that featured Taylor Swift, Snoop Dogg, and George Clooney, the latter serving as Ryan Reynolds’ replacement (“I’ll take Ryan out,” he said).
Eventually, the conversation turned back to Stewart’s thoughts on Ryan Reynolds not being funny and elaborated on his earlier comments. He said he’s “a great actor” and “can do funny things, but he’s not funny.” He then thinks that “maybe he’ll be funny again” before revealing that he’s “going to get in trouble” for eating his famous neighbor like this.

When Pop Crave posted the news about Stewart’s comments on X (formerly Twitter), his famous neighbor responded with his trademark humor. Ryan Reynolds posted that I “disagree” with him about the joke “but I tried that.” He then joked that Stewart was “unexpectedly spry” and “closed the gap after a mile or so.”
In his kind response, Ryan Reynolds proved that he was funny in one very important way: he knows how to make jokes at his own expense. As for Stewart’s original comments, it led many Reynolds fans to point out that the Marvel star was talking about growing up as a naive child and later developing social anxiety as an adult. So, it makes sense that the guy who makes us laugh in all these hot movies might not always be “on” and want to crack jokes with his neighbors whenever they meet.
Speaking of neighbors, whether Ryan Reynolds is funny in real life is a topic only Martha Stewart seems to care about. Most of the world will never meet with Deadpool and Wolverine star, so the fact that he can make us laugh with his acting means that he is very funny to us. Where we stand, Martha Stewart has her fingers on the pulse of at least one thing, though: Snoop Dogg’s voice madly it’s fun to share.
