NYPD makes arrest in fatal stabbing of on-duty postal worker
The NYPD has charged a woman with stabbing a USPS worker on the job Thursday afternoon.
A woman identified as Jaia Cruz, 24, has been charged with first degree murder for stabbing and hacking a postal worker who was on duty at a Harlem restaurant.
The victim, who has been identified as Ray Hodges, 36, was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem where he was pronounced dead, according to police.

The attack allegedly began after an argument between two customers, according to police.
The weapon was recovered. However, it has not been identified.
The United States Postal Inspection Service (USPIS) released a statement saying that a postal worker was assigned to Manhattan, and is cooperating with the NYPD.

“USPIS takes matters affecting the safety and well-being of postal service employees very seriously. We are working diligently with the New York Police Department on this investigation,” the statement said.
