Cam Skattebo sounds off to fan accusing ASU star of late-night running before Peach Bowl

Arizona State’s Cam Skattebo shut down one fan on social media after the star running back was accused of a night out the night before the Peach Bowl.

Skattebo kept a season high with a solid performance in Wednesday’s doubleheader loss to Texas.

On Thursday, Skattebo went to X to respond to a fan’s claim that he went out the night before.

“Look – Cam went out last night in classic ASU fashion. This is why we’re not a football school,” said a fan in a post with a photo of Skattebo seen at a bar surrounded by people.

Skattebo replied to this message a day later, saying that he had gone out with his family to have dinner.

“Folks, it was 8:30 at night and I was with family,” Skattebo said in the post. “Yes they were drinking, and if you know anything about me you know I don’t drink. But I’m sure you posted this because you couldn’t get a picture or an autograph.

“Men, some people want to be strong and it’s sick.”

“To all the people who said that he fired me because I’m trying to ruin his life… where am I lying? He left late and it’s too late. The rest is my opinion. I won’t try to ruin a young man’s career. I worked hard to build mine!”
