UN forces have also accused Israel of attacking positions in Lebanon

A UN peacekeeping mission in Lebanon on Friday accused Israeli forces of “deliberate destruction” of its property.

The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) said two excavators and one bulldozer belonging to the Israeli army destroyed part of a fence and a concrete structure at the UNIFIL compound on the border of Ras Naqoura on Thursday.

The campaign called the incident a “flagrant violation” of international law.

“The incident, like seven other similar incidents, is not a matter of the peacekeepers being caught in the war, but the deliberate and direct actions of the IDF. [Israeli military],” UNIFIL added in a post on X.

“We also remind the IDF and all stakeholders of their responsibility to ensure the safety and security of UN personnel and assets and to respect the inviolability of UN buildings at all times,” the campaign said.

On Thursday, UNIFIL said five peacekeepers were slightly injured in an Israeli drone strike in Sidon in southern Lebanon.

Northern Israel has been hit by missiles from Lebanon

Elsewhere on Friday, northern Israel was hit by rocket fire from Lebanon, the Israeli military reported.

Five missiles were fired at the predominantly Arab community of Kafr Yasif, north of Haifa, the statement said.

Four were blocked, one crashed into a house. No one was injured, but the Times of Israel published videos of X’s strike.

In total, almost 60 missiles were recorded, less than in previous days.

Hezbollah fighters have been firing missiles into northern Israel for more than a year.

Houthi forces attacked a military airbase in southern Israel

Meanwhile, Houthi forces in Yemen, allied with Iran, said on Friday they attacked the Nevatim airbase in southern Israel.

This group also captured an American plane in the west of Yemen, said the spokesman of the Houthi forces, Yahya Saree.

The Israeli military said it intercepted a missile fired from Yemen.

There has been another attack on Israel by the group called “Axis of Resistance” allied with Iran since the beginning of the war in Gaza about a year ago.

In addition to Hezbollah in Lebanon and Hamas in the Gaza Strip, the Axis of Resistance includes Iraqi forces and the Houthi rebels in Yemen.

The US military and the Israeli military have repeatedly bombed Yemen in response.
