Quinn Ewers? OK. Arch Manning? Why not. Bevo? No thanks.

The beloved Texas Longhorns mascot Bevo XV will not be making the trip to the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl in the next round of the College Football Playoff as the team will play Arizona State.

Peach Bowl organizers made the announcement Monday.

“We love all the great traditions of college football and there’s no doubt that Bevo is one of the best, but the sad truth is that it’s the closest to Mercedes-Benz Stadium,” their statement read.

“Due to stadium constraints and prioritizing the safety of Bevo, the players, all network cameras, support staff, cheerleaders and photographers, unfortunately we will not be able to have Bevo on the field for the CFP Quarterfinal at the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl.”

The Peach Bowl will be held at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. It was the SEC Championship between Texas and Georgia. Bevo is also banned from this event.

Bevo had a little tiff with Georgia’s mascot Uga in the past. The mascot crashed through a fence at that year’s Sugar Bowl and nearly stepped on a dog and spectators at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.
