Charlie Woods, son of Tiger Woods, gets a hole-in-one at the PNC Championship

ORLANDO, Fla. — Tiger Woods isn’t the only member of his family to produce big moments. His 15-year-old son Charlie made his first ace on Sunday at the PNC Championship.

Woods seemed more excited than he would have been if he had made the hole-in-one himself.

Charlie Woods hit a 7-iron from 175 yards on the par-3 fourth hole at the Ritz-Carlton Club Orlando during the final round of a tournament paired with majors and family members.

He didn’t even know it had gone into the hole. The large gallery near the green began to cheer, as did another group of fans on the other side of the hole, many of whom raised their index fingers — some down to show he had holed out, some up to show his score. . The television cameras finally confirmed him.

Woods gave his son a big hug, then playfully dismissed him.

“First one,” Charlie said as the cameras panned around him.

Even better, it gave them a temporary lead. This is the fifth year in a row Woods and his son have played the 36-hole tournament.
