Former sex star-turned-pedagogue Brittni De La Mora has called for age verification laws to be “mandatory” to “protect children” as Florida is set to enact legislation on the issue in January.
Pornhub will soon be unavailable to users in Florida after the Sunshine State enacted a new law to ensure access to adult sites. As of Jan. 1, 2025, the age verification law is tied to state HB 3, a measure that aims to protect children online.
Pornhub’s parent company, Aylo, emphasized to Fox News Digital that it favors age verification that works, just not the way Florida law is structured, saying that some outlets have incorrectly reported that it doesn’t support age verification.
“They’re misrepresenting themselves by saying they don’t want to follow a simple, age-defining law on pornography,” De La Mora said on “The Ingraham Angle.” “I don’t know exactly what they are doing with their money, but I believe that they are failing to protect young children.
“Fifty-eight percent of children who viewed pornography for the first time – watched it by stumbling upon it through a pop-up ad and so on. And they didn’t want pornography – pornography wanted them,” De La Mora said.

According to the bill, a website or app that “contains a substantial portion of material harmful to minors” will be required to verify the user’s age. Through “anonymous or standard age verification,” it must verify that the user is 18 or older to continue engaging.
In response to the measure’s clarification, Aylo chose to suspend access to the site for adults in Florida, saying in a statement that collecting “highly sensitive personal information” puts “user safety at risk.”
“First, to be clear, Aylo has publicly supported age verification of users for years, but we believe that any legislation regarding this should preserve user safety and privacy, and should effectively protect children from accessing content intended for adults. Unfortunately, the way many places around the world , including Florida, have chosen to use age verification as ineffective, automated, and dangerous Any laws requiring hundreds of thousands of adult sites to collect significant amounts of sensitive personal information In addition, as experience has shown, unless properly enforced, users will simply access sites that do not comply with the rules or find other ways to evade these rules,” Aylo said in a statement to Fox News Digital.
The statement continued later: “The best solution to make the Internet safer, preserve user privacy, and prevent children from accessing adult content is age verification at the source: the device. The technology to achieve this exists today. What is needed is the political and social will to make it happen. We are eager to be part of this solution and have fun collaborating with government, community and technology partners to come up with an effective solution for age verification provide free and easy-to-use parental control features that can prevent children to access adult content without risking the disclosure of sensitive user data.”
Florida residents who are still using the app before the deadline are met with a Countdown pop-up of how many more days they have access to the site.
“Did you know that your government requires you to provide your driver’s license before you can access PORNHUB?” the pop-up reads. “As crazy as that sounds, it’s true. You’ll be required to prove you’re 18 or older by uploading your government ID to every adult content website you’d like to access.”

The pop-up also talked about how it supports children who don’t have access to the site, and said that preventing use is “a good thing.” Directs readers to other ways to prevent minor access, such as “Device-Based Age Verification.”

De La Mora continued: “I was in the sex industry for seven years, and I would be paid extra money to do brutal and abusive scenes.”
He added that the “hair pulling, spitting and choking” actions often used in sex clips have become “sex education” for young people.
After talking to other young girls, De La Mora said many expressed that they no longer wanted to have sex again after having sex for the first time.
“I don’t blame young boys, they watch pornographic images, this is what fills their minds, this is what teaches them to have sex,” he said.

“Protecting children is not a violation of your First Amendment rights in any way. I believe our government has a responsibility to protect children,” De La Mora said, arguing that adult content “was not created with children in mind.” “It’s meant for adults, yet there’s never been any accountability for porn companies.”
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ communications office did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.
