A small plane identified by the stolen Pentagon south of the Philippines on Thursday, killed all four people, including the US military member, officials said.
The flight, Beekcraft King Air 300, collided in the Apatuan Municipality in the Maguindana Del region of Mindanao’s Silnoun, said Pilipine authorities on Friday. On the way to Cebu Province approached Cotabat City, the capital of Muslims in Mnganao.
The incident occurred during the “General Mission to support US security services,” said the Indo-Pacific Command in Friday statement.
“The plane provides intelligence, surveillance and rehabilitation of the Recovery Allies application,” said the statement. The names of those killed were reserved until family members were not informed.
Philippines is Ally’s oldest agreement in Asia. The US forces were sent to a military camp to help train Philippine’s soldiers and fight Muslim soldiers from Muslims. In 2017, US special forces helped Philippine soldiers as soldiers connected with the Islamic state in southern Marawa.
