Lizzo Achieves Weight Loss Goal After Giving Up Ozempic
Lizzo she celebrates big and small goals in her ongoing and “intentional” weight loss journey.
“I did it,” the Grammy-winning rapper, 36, wrote on Instagram on Saturday, January 25. “Today when I stepped on my scale, I reached my weight loss goal.
He added, “I haven’t seen this number since 2014! Let this be a reminder that you can do anything you set your mind to. Time for new goals!”
Lizzo (real name Melissa Jefferson) also uploaded a workout selfie, in which she sports a burgundy sports bra and matching leggings. He also added a sticker to the photo, which read, “Congratulations! You have reached your weight goals.”
In the following post, Lizzo revealed that she has dropped 10.5 in her BMI and 16 percent body fat as of January 16, 2023.
“I’m actually on an intentional weight loss journey right now,” she said in another Instagram Story video on Saturday. “Even though my weight loss journey is coming to an end, I will not look forward to losing weight. I’ll still be considered overweight on BMI and the little bros on the internet will still call me big bums, but I’ll be happy – and happy. “
Lizzo added to the song, “I told you I was going to explode like this. I didn’t know I could explode like this. Let this be a reminder that you can do anything you set your mind to. Now, I think it’s time to set new goals.”
Since last year, Lizzo has put her health first.
“I was working out, I lost a little weight,” said Lizzo The New York Times in an April 2024 profile, noting that she tries to take a walk or do Pilates at least once a day. “I don’t really see it because if anyone is on a weight loss journey we know that losing weight is the slowest thing in the world and you don’t see it until you see it. Also, the scale doesn’t really move. But still, that doesn’t matter. I am very proud of my current life.”
He went on to say at the time, “I’m not going to lie and say that I love my body every day.” The bottom line is, the way you feel about your body changes every day. There are days when I love my body, and others when I feel completely hopeless.”
Five months later Lizzo was accused of using Ozempic to lose weight.
“When you finally get the suspicion of Ozempic after 5 months of weight training and calorie deficit,” he wrote on Instagram in September 2024, denying the speculation.
Ozempic, Wegovy and similar semaglutides are often prescribed to adults with conditions including high blood pressure or type 2 diabetes to help control their weight. Many celebrities have tried this drug as a way to lose weight quickly, but doctors have warned against its use for normal weight loss.
