Boxer Devin Haney Rips Actor Sylvester Stellone Over Rocky Films: ‘The Movies Were Not Real’

American Boxer Devin Haney took aim at Sylvester Stallone over the actor’s recent comments about the current state of boxing.

Stallone, a three-year academy award winner, received critical acclaim for his portrayal of Philadelphia boxer Rocky Balboa in the iconic franchise.

A video recently posted on social media shows Stallone holding the gloves he wore in the mid-1970s during the filming of the original sports drama movie. At one point during the video, Stallone raised gloves that were similar to those used by professional boxers used in the 70s.

“They don’t even allow these things today because they’re too dangerous. But that’s what they used when I made the movie. They’re six ounces. I still have killers because it’s a time when things are tough for people. I’m sorry, they were. Life just gets easier and easier and easier… Or I hate you.”

“Dude I don’t know the left dress from the fish hook, and he got the senses to talk about easy times on the feet like this he was not just an actor … The movies have real rocks,” wrote Hanedy.

Last April’s upset loss to Ryan Garcia marked Haney’s last appearance in a professional bout.
